One of WordPress 2.5’s new and very nice feature is its plugin auto update. On previous versions, when you login to your admin panel and then see your list of plugins, when there’s an update for a plugin, you will be notified, and you’ll have to update the plugin manually.

Now, there’s another option, you can update the plugin automatically! Just click the link, and the update is done for you in just seconds. That’s great, right? But remember, you can only use this feature on plugins that are registered on wordpress.org.

But you also must be careful when using this cool feature. A while ago, I was just using the WP-Postviews plugin by Lester ‘GaMerZ’ Chan. And when I entered the plugin list page to activate it, there was a notice below the plugin’s name and description that says like this:

There is a new version of WP-PostViews Widget available. Download version 2.20 here or upgrade automatically.

Notice that the words in bold make a link to update the plugin automatically. Because I’ve used the auto update feature and really like it, I just clicked on it and hoped the plugin was updated. But I was wrong! WordPress said that the update process was successful! But when I go to the plugin list page, the WP-PostViews disappeared! Even more strange, a new plugin appeared, it’s WP-DBManager! I just realised that the plugin auto update feature had updated the wrong plugin.

I then had to upload WP-PostViews again, and after I checked, there was no new version

So, if you want to use this cool feature, please just be careful. Look at the link first and see where it goes. In my case above, the link points to WP-DBManager, not to WP-PostViews, that’s why it got the wrong plugin. See the image above.

To get a lot of votes, besides your look on your photo, you need to write something catchy. Visitors will not vote for you just because of your look, but they mix it with your profile. If they also like your profile, they surely will vote for you.

Each month a top 10 list is published for each category, and the 4 winners of 2008 will be published on December 31st, 2008. So, come on and participate now! Even if you don’t win, there’s a chance that a model agency will discover you and take a good look at you.

As you may already know, when you’re blogging on wordpress.com, you may not put ads on your blogs. And it’s been a feature that a lot of people love, while for other a lot of people who want to put ads on their blogs, it’s a disaster.

So, for you who want to make some money from your blogs, it’s very simple, do not use WordPress.com blogs! Instead, buy a domain name and a hosting on your own where you can freely put any ads you want. Or, if you still want free blogs where you can run ads, use blogspot instead.

Oh no! That’s what came out of my mind when I see this blog’s alexa rank. Its alexa rank now is 1.508.347, while it was 1.287.961 a while ago.

My other blog, which was just 2 months old and already had the alexa rank of 1.327.899, which is a very good rank for me for a new blog, has dropped to 1.894.733 And my blog in Indonesian which alexa rank was 391.293 now dropped to 433.851. What’s wrong?

I admit that I haven’t been browsing a lot these 2 days, because of my work that made me so tired. But does it really matter? Do I really have to browse a lot using the alexa toolbar to maintain my alexa rank? Am I the only one experiencing this, or do you have the same problem with mine?

I have seen a lot of blogs that make money using Paid Posts like PaidPerPost, SponsoredReviews etc are punished by Google. Punished how? By downgrading the blogs’ Page Rank (PR). Some blogs which used to have PR 3 or 4 are now down to 0 (zero)!

This way, it’s hard for those blogs to get another paid reviews (or the ones with higher paid jobs), because the blogs are really dependant of their PR to get jobs.

Now, the question is, why does Google hate Paid Posts? In think it’s because:

1. Google needs to do it for the favor of their users. When people do a search on Google, Google doesn’t want the search results to show those paid posts, as they have the tendency to be irrelevant. So Google take them out of the Search Engine Result Page (SERP).
2. Google needs to protect their income. Paid Reviews are really booming these days, and Google doesn’t want advertisers to leave them.

Just my opinion. Anyone want to add another reasons?

Kids Movie

If you’re a Stephen Chow fan like me, maybe you’ll get a little dissapointed by this movie. But it’s quite funny and entertaining. First of all, Chow is not really the leading role here, but the kid playing as his son is. Secondly, I really think this movie is a kid movie, children will love it. Just my personal opinion.

The story is about a father (Chow) and a son who are very poor. They live in a very small room in an abandoned building, accompanied by cockroaches. To get clothes, or shoes, the father looks for them in a garbage dump. Very very sad..

The father works in a construction company, and his boss is a kind man, although sometimes very rough. Even though they’re poor, the father always teaches his son to live with a good moral, like never steal anything. One day, while searching for things in the garbage dump near their house, he found something interesting, a thing like a ball. He gave it to his son as a toy.

This “ball” turns out to be something extraordinary. It’s something from… well, if I tell you, it’ll huge be a spoiler So I guess I shouldn’t tell you guys. But after this “ball” comes into their live, everything changes.

You’ll laugh and even cry when watching CJ7. Stephen Chow really has a good taste in humor, and he can make the audience feel sad too. I give my two thumbs up for him. But I just still like Kung Fu Hustle better, waiting forward for Kung Fu Hustle 2, which is planned to be released in 2010 (wow why so long? )
