From A Bartender to An Idol

Written by Jimmy on May 25th, 2008 | Filed under: Entertainment

david cookLast night I saw American Idol on TV, and finally David Cook became the American Idol 2008! From both finalists, whose names are David, I personally like them both, but like David Cook better.

David Cook has more of a rocker style, while the other David is just like a boyband. They have very different styles, and both have very nice voice. But maybe more people think just like me, that David Cook is better.

David Cook’s story amazes me. He was a bartender, and he didn’t even in the American Idol contest in the first place! He was accompanying his brother when suddenly someone (I don’t know who, was it Ryan Sacrest?) asked him to enter the contest. The rest is history, his brother didn’t make it to the next round, and David Cook become the American Idol.

Can you believe that? Someone who never dreamed of, and didn’t even want to try it, become the American Idol, the title thousands of Americans dream of. His story really is amazing.

CJ7 Movie Review

CJ7Kids Movie

If you’re a Stephen Chow fan like me, maybe you’ll get a little dissapointed by this movie. But it’s quite funny and entertaining. First of all, Chow is not really the leading role here, but the kid playing as his son is. Secondly, I really think this movie is a kid movie, children will love it. Just my personal opinion.

The story is about a father (Chow) and a son who are very poor. They live in a very small room in an abandoned building, accompanied by cockroaches. To get clothes, or shoes, the father looks for them in a garbage dump. Very very sad..

The father works in a construction company, and his boss is a kind man, although sometimes very rough. Even though they’re poor, the father always teaches his son to live with a good moral, like never steal anything. One day, while searching for things in the garbage dump near their house, he found something interesting, a thing like a ball. He gave it to his son as a toy.

This “ball” turns out to be something extraordinary. It’s something from… well, if I tell you, it’ll huge be a spoiler :D So I guess I shouldn’t tell you guys. But after this “ball” comes into their live, everything changes.

You’ll laugh and even cry when watching CJ7. Stephen Chow really has a good taste in humor, and he can make the audience feel sad too. I give my two thumbs up for him. But I just still like Kung Fu Hustle better, waiting forward for Kung Fu Hustle 2, which is planned to be released in 2010 (wow why so long? :( )

Clockwise or Anticlockwise?

Written by Jimmy on Dec 1st, 2007 | Filed under: Cool Stuff

Take a look at this dancer image.. click here to see the image I don’t display the image here on purpose to avoid confusion.

So, after you see the dancer, do you see her turn in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction? If you see her in clockwise, then you use your right brain more, and vice versa.

Most of us will see her in anti-clockwise direction. Try to focus to change her turn direction to clockwise from anti-clockwise (or to anti-clockwise from clockwise if you see her in clockwise in the first place).

Tips: At first, I also see her in anti-clockwise direction, then I tried very hard to change her turn direction, but it’s really hard, I couldn’t do it. Then I scrolled down my monitor so I can only see her feet and her shadow, from there, it’s easier to change her direction, scrolled up the monitor again and I have changed her turn direction! Try it! :thumb1:

By the way, I’m not lying, the dancer’s direction can really be seen in both clockwise and anti-clockwise direction!

Wild Hogs

Wild HogsPure comedy & entertaining

For those who likes movies that don’t require you to do a lot of thinking, just for entertainment, this movie is for you. 100% comedy and will make you laugh :D

The story is about 4 buddies whose lives are bored, and in trouble. They decided to go cross country riding their Harley Davidson bikes. On the street, they meet real bikers and got into trouble. This is where the things that makes you laugh happens.

The movies is starred by 2 comedy stars Martin Lawrence dan Tim Allen. And the other 2 stars don’t usually play in comedy movies. They’re John Travolta dan William H. Macy. But I think John Travolta is very capable of doing comedy movies, his acting here is good. But the character I like the most in this movie is the one played by William H. Macy. Why? Just watch the movie, I’m sure you’ll agree with me..

Andy Lau is Awesome

Written by Jimmy on Nov 18th, 2007 | Filed under: Cool Stuff

Just have to say it, he is just one of the greatest Hong Kong and Asian artist.

When I first see the video, it wasn’t too clear for me what was really happening. Why would Andy jumped off the stage and hit people? I thought his fan did something bad to him and then he hit the fan. Wow.. that would be very bad, wouldn’t it? But I was wrong.

Then I read the comments on YouTube, all the comments flatter Andy. Confused, I read all the comments, most of them are in Chinese that I don’t understand, but some are in English. It turns out that he wasn’t hitting his fan, but the concert security guards.

It was Andy’s concert in China, then a fan climbed the stage to give flowers to Andy. After the fan get off the stage, those bastards security guards beat him. Maybe it was forbidden to approach the stage, but why must the fan be beaten?

Andy was angry to see his fan was beaten, he jumped off the stage and hit those bastards security guards to defend his fan! The he took the fan out of the mess. You can hear that people are cheering him.

That is very very cool of Andy Lau to do that. How he jumped of the tall stage… :thumb5:
